ENEMY ENTERS EGYPT. ITALIAN DRIVE HELD. LONDON, April 28. Tlie latest news from North. Africa states that two enemy motorised columns have advanced into Egypt along - the escarpment road at several points. The forces, which are believed to be not more than 15 miles from the sea, are believed to comprise Italians. British mobile units arc in contact with them, and they are reported to be held by a screen of British troops. 'The possibility ot an enemy push against Sidi Barrani is not ruled out. A British Official Wireless message says there is no change in the situation in the Tobruk area. In the Solium area, last evening, enemy detachments crossed the frontier at several points. Our light mobile forces remained in contact with the enemy, harassing their advance. IN ABYSSINIA.
The operations in all areas of Abyssinia are continuing satisfactory. It was earlier reported: “The operations about Dessye are continuing and further penetration has been'made to a position covering the town from the south. A considerable native patriot force is now co-operating in the area.”
