At the monthly meeting uf the Y.M.C.A. Board of Directors, Air G. A. Eliott presiding, a report was presented on the damage done a.t Camp Pohangina by the recent flood. 'I lie A .M.C.A. has sustained a vorv heavy blow due to the flood deino.ishing" flic tnessroom, cookhouse and prelects’ room, '('lie association, however, has been very fortunate in having a section of the "works services committee of ihe Emergency Precautions Scheme offering to assist: in the rebuilding of the camp, it being* recognised by that organisation lhat tbe work of the A.M.C.A. is of a community nature. 'This applies particularly to Camp Pohangina whore a very large portion of the boys admitted to the vamp sire not members of tile A .Af.C.A.. and provision is a.so made at; the camp for a certain niimlxw of boys who are only able to pay a portion of tho camp fees. The hoard cxpiesses their appreciation of flic offer of co-operation, and tho work of salvaging and reconstruction will lie taken in hand at an early date. The board also expressed appreciation to Ali.-s Owl rain and an anonymous donor fer donations. Aery satisfactory reports were received from the conveners of flic committee interested in the activities of the physical and outdoor sports department, social ai\d religious work anti bovs’ work department.
