OBITUARY

AIR HENRY AYEBSTER

The death occurred recently of Air Henry (Harry) Webster, a well-known resident of Danuevirke. Ho was in his 70th year and lor a considerable time had not experienced the best of health. He was in town during the day and his passing away from heart failure was therefore sudden. The late Air AYebster, whose wife predeceased him some years ago, came to New Zealand from England at the age of 21 and for many years resided at Cheltenham. Later lie and his family resided at Palmerston North, where he wag reel dent agent lor Alessrs Reid and Gray, field implement manufacturers, and from here lie was transferred to Dannevirke. AYhile there he obtained the position of caretaker of the Dannevirkc racecourse and retained it until racing ceased there. Latterly, he had been residing in. Dannevirke. Deceased was widely known and liked, and lie could tell many interesting stories about farm life in the early days. A family of eight are left to mourn their loss —Alesdames A. Sturrock (Tc Reliunga), S. Brown (Danncvirko), I. Williams (Wellington), and L. Jackson (Palmerston North), and Messrs Allan Webster (Petone). Henry (Sydney), David (Dannevirke) and James (Wellington).
