GIRLS’ HIGH SCHOOL

The annual meeting of the Girls' High School Parents' Association ,r lwas held this week, Air T. P. Hart presiding. The report, which was adopted, expicsscd the association’s thanks and appreciation to the principal, staff and girls for their efforts in collecting over £6B, which when added to half the Parents’ Association’s collections enabled the school to donate £lls I7s lOd to the various patriotic funds. To those who helped to make the annual gala day a success Air Hart also extended thanks. During the year the association was ablo to make the following gifts to the school: Three permanent stalls, a record cabinet, and grants to the library, a total of £6l. In view of the good work done by the association it was very disappointing to find so few of tile parents taking any interest in the work of the association. and it eyas pointed out that membership.- did not mean that attendance at the monthly meeting of the committee was necessary. Air Hart made reference to the sterling services rendered by the retiring secretary, Air 11. Findlay Wilson, who. owing to his being engaged in war activities, was unable to carry out the secretarial duties this year. The following were elected to office: Air T. P. Hart, president; Airs O. Doel, secretarytreasurer; Mr It. A. Fuller, auditor. A strong committee was also appointed. The girls of the school presented three plays, all of which proved most entertaining.
