LATE CORPORAL PUSSELL
News was recently received in New Zealand from Captain Good, who was in charge of Corporal Pusscll’s unit wtion the latter met his death. Corporal l’ussell is well known in the Kimbollon district v\ lie re he has relatives. Captain Good stated that Corporal Pusscll’s unit had received instruction* to load a transport ship off the coast of tho Mediterranean, and that while ho was supervising the loading of his vehicles the Italian aircraft dropped a bomb which resulted in Corporal Pusscll having one arm blown oil', lie was taken to the dressing station and bad a blood transfusion to which lie responded. Three days later, however, lie collapsed, and died from loss of blood. Corporal Pussell was buried at Solium where the authorities have erected a cross above the grave. Captain Good, iri making further reference to tho deceased, referred to him as a brave, gallant soldier, and a sincere friend.
In a further letter, written by Mr Keith Pussell, a brother to the late Corporal Pussell, now in Egypt, it is staled that, the colonel of the regiment had informed him that tho laic Corporal Pussell had been recommended for a Military Medal for bravery and courage.
