PROCKD UR E QU ESTIO N ED. Per Press .Association. MASTERTON. April 3. Commenting on the procedure announced for the selection of tracks most suitable for impressment, the Mayor (Mr W. J. Jordan) said at a meeting of the Emergency Precaution Scheme, last night, that he could not understand why the instructions had come from the New Zealand Road Transport Alliance. He could not find out the reason. The instructions should have come from the Transport Department. hut no notification had been received from the Minister. Tho meeting decided to write to the authorities, stating that the committee had received a request from the local branch of the alliance for the appointment of one representative to sit with fen members of the alliance, and to ask for the authority for that step.
