There was much rejoicing at the home of Lady Pomare, Lower Hutt, last week, when a grandson was born. This son and heir of Mr and Mrs Pa Pomare is the only male grandson of the late Hon. The baby’s mother was formerly Miss Madge Ormond, Wairoa, granddaughter of the late Hon. J. D. Ormond, Wallingford.

Members of the Posemary Club spent an enjoyable evening at Miss Jean Scott’s studio recently when Mrs J. C. Piddle presided over a good attendance, five new members being welcomed. Mrs Piddle introduced the new secretary, Mrs Sycamore. Competitions were won by Mrs Vaughan and Master Nicholson the trophies being donated by Mesdames W. F. Field and Thorburn. Items were given by Mrs Davis, pianoforte solos; Miss Cranston, Peggy Wilson, recitations; Miss M. Penketh, songs; Miss Gloria Young, operatic dance; Misses Nancy Singleton and Zoe Bailey, tap duo.
