NEW SUNDAY SCHOOL.

_—-». The rapidly growing suburb of West End has accjuirod a new amenity with the opening of the Presbyterian Sunday school building. There have been about 60 children on the roll for some weeks, but the official opening did not take place until yesterday. Among those present was the Mayor (Mr A. E. Mansford), who stated that the building testified to the enthusiasm of the St. Andrew's congregation. He spoke of the need for character building in the making of a great city and nation; and stated that in the present crisis immediately after our duty to the fighting services came our duty to the young people. We could only have a better world if youth was trained properly in mind and body and trained to be goo<l citizens with faith in God Mr Mansford expressed the Hope that the Sunday school would prosper. Mr W. B. Torment, superintendent of St. Andrew's Sunday School and session clerk, voiced thanks for the way in which the congregation had responded to the appeal that the work might be extended to West End. The teachers necessary to carry on the school had been found. Rev. J. Hubbard recorded appreciation of the gifts of money from Mr W. Ritchie and the late Mrs Ritchie, which had made possible the purchase of the site. Sister Iris Wilson had undertaken the task of superintending the work. He thanked the teachers who had come forward.
