ATTEMPTS ON LIFE.

MR REN DEL ESCAPES. LONDON, March 11. A heavy explosion took place to-night in the hotel "at Istanbul at which, the former British Ambassador to Bulgaria (Mr G. W. Rendel) and his suite are staying. Agency reports state that the bombs were in suitcases deposited in the building. . . Mr Rendel was not injured. It is reported, also, that an attempt was made to wijeck the aeroplane in which Mr Rendel travelled to Istanbul.
