AMATEUR ATHLETICS
The Pa'mcrston North Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club held another of its weekly sports meetings at the Sportsground on Monday. Fine weather favoured the fixture and a fast track helped the competitors. In the cycling division, Hansen was the most successful competitor, taking two of the- events and being second in the other. With L. Hazelwood' he staged a neck-and-neck struggle over the last 100 yards in the two-mile race after the former had been well back during tho early stages. B. Bell has como into prominence during tho last month or so with consistent form in the sprint flat events. Hewon the 100 yards race on Monday and ran a dcad-hcat in tho 440 yards with A. Rowlands.
