THAILAND CLASHES.
BANGKOK, Jan. 6. The High Command has announced heavy fighting in the southern frontier sectors and Thai bombing attacks on lndo-China objectives. It said that Thai forces repelled a strong French attack in the Aranya sector and als - repelled a French attack under an artillery barrage in a two-hour battle east of Chandaburi. Thirty Thai planes bombed Pakse and other French from tier towns, setting fire to barracks and damaging a gun emplacement. Though it is said that Frenchmen are free to leave the country, they are not permitted outside the capital without police permission.
JAPANESE INSTRUCTORS. (Rec. 12.45 p.m.) LONDON, Ja,n. 7. The Thailand High Command claimed that the Tha*i forces have captured Peopot, on the Cambodia border, after a two days’ spirited offensive. In Hanoi French circles allege that Japanese • aviators are instructing the Thailand pilots.
