SOUTH ISLAND RESULTS. Per Press Association NELSON, Jan. 8. At the South Island croquet championships Airs Palmer, present title-holder, was beaten in the open event by Mrs Cadwalladcr. Results: G'hampionship doubles. —Mosdamcs Gilbert and Nottlo beat Air and Airs Ivirk, 26-12. Open championship.—Airs Cadwalladcr beat Airs Palmer, 26 —14, 3—26, 26 —15. Women’s championship.—Airs Allan beat Airs Lindsay 26—19, Airs Nottle beat Airs Henderson 26 —13, Airs Clark beat Aliss Rees 26—12, Mrs Poison beat Mrs Inkster 26—15, Airs Bassett beat Airs Small 26—17, Airs Gambrill beat Airs Lowery 26 —14.
