McNeil 1, A McKinlay 2; girls, 8 to 12 years, A. Pilcher and G. Angrove equal 1, N. Watt 3, P. Cullen 4; boys, 8 to 12 years, IC. Clapcott_ 1, It. Young 2, A. McKinlay and I. McKinlay equal 3; elocution, 12 to 16 years, N.. Iloulbrookc; pianoforte, 12 to 16 years, N. Lawrence 1, N. Oliver 2; dancing, girls 8 to 12 years, J, Walker, M. Batchelor and V. Pilcher; instrumental, G. Herrick 1, N. Oliver 2. Mr W. J. Andeison has been appointed to the sta-tf of the Woodrifle School and Messrs B. J. Taylor and A. R, Williams hu\e been appointed to relieving positions. In contrast to good support given tho Home Guard movement in other parts of this province and elsewhere, only nine enrolments have so far been received at tho Woodville Borough and County Council offices, notwithstanding the fact that the authorities have pointed out that this locality is considered an important one in tho entire Homo Guard plan. It may he appropriate to repeat that all information required by eligibles may be obtained at the county and borough offices. Many Papatawa and Mahnrahara West residents assembled on Saturday night to welcome Mr and Mrs A. Galloways who were recently married. All present united in the good wishes conveyed by Mr McLean, and an impromptu programme of dancing and songs was held. Mcsdames Pilcher and Barber and Mr Gleadow supplied the music, and Mr A. D. Hall was M.C. The secretary of the Woodville branch of the Crippled * Children Society (Mrs J. T. Horn) has received a mombershqi fee from Mrs E. J. Harding.
