RAIDS ON LONDON.
BIG EXPLOSIONS. , LONDON, Nov. 17. Londoners were disappointed tonight when, after the shortest early night raid so far, the Germans returned after a .brief respite. One roof spotter said some of the biggest explosions seen for weeks occurred on the outskirts of London, There was a tremendous, sustained rumble, giving the impression that the enemy were using the heaviest bombs. “Molotov breadbaskets” were dropped, but no fires occurred. The Germans were apparently sending one or two raiders at a time. The pilots dropped their bombs during a quick dash across the capital, and then there was silence until the next raider appeared. The German long-range guns heavily bombarded the Dover area tonight. Meanwhile the R.A.F. attacked invasion ports, and the coast between Calais and Boulogne was irequently illuminated by flashes.
