RONGOTEA

A special meeting of Lodge Kopane, No. 140, 1.0.0. F., was held on Tuesday evening, when Bro. Sim, D.D.G.M. and his staff installed the following officers with impressive ceremony: N.G., Bro. D. Fraser; V.G., Bro. D. S. Woods; Treasurer, Bro. 0. Donovan; Secretary, Bro. H. Matheson; Recording Sec, Bro. J. Blenkinsop; R.S.S., Bro. P. Bottcher; L.S.S., Bro. B. Carrington; L.S.N.G., Bro. F. Hill; R.S.N.G., Bro. F. Hancock; L.S.V.G., Bro. 11. Boyce; R.S.V.G., Bro. E. J. Arnott; Conductor, Bro. H. O'Connor; Warden, Bro. R. Will; 1.G., Bro. J. Major; 0.G., Bro. A. G. H.' Ogilvie. Keen interest is maintained in lodge aftairs and the meetings are well attended. Tho monthly meeting of the SansonRongotea Methodist Guild was hold in tho church vestry on Wednesday afternoon, Mrs C. M. Roberts presiding over a. very good attendance. The principal business was the arranging of the annual circuit garden party, which is to be held at the home of Mr W. Gloyn early in December. Several apologies for absence were received. After the meeting the ladies adjourned to the church to hear Miss K. Gadre. 8.A., 8.T., principal of the Ramabai Mukti mission in India, speak of her work among the child widows of that country. Those present listened with interest as the speaker told of the wonderful work that was being done. Mrs Roberts thanked Miss Gadre and Mrs Kristcnson also spoke on behalf of visitors who were present from other churches. Gift offerings amounted to £1 3s 9d. Miss Gadre closed tho meeting with prayer.
