Y.W.C.A.

DRAMA FESTIVAL. The annual drama festival was conducted by the younger girls of the Y.W.C.A. on Wednesday, when there was a good attendance of parents and friends. The contest is for the Drama Cup presented some years ago by members of the board of directors. Mrs. S. J. Bennett acted as judge and awarded the cup to the discussion section, who presented “All Night Service,” which was produced by Misses Cranston and Wapp. The drama section, under the leadership ol Miss Dorothy Langridge, presented “The Crimson Cocoanut” ; and the handwork section, with Mrs A. Gorringe as producer, gave “The Girl From the Hall.” Mies itosemary Small trained the Junior Citizens, who presented “The Woodcutter and the Princess,” and as a finale to this play other junior girls gave a folk dancing display under the leadership of Mrs B. Elpliiek. Miss Pain directed the 3Y9 Club, who produced “Sing a Song of Sixpence.” At the conclusion of the festival, Mrs C. A. Small presented the trophy with the congratulations of the audience. The Chief Citizen (Mavis Dunstan) presented a posy to Mrs Bennett and expressed the girls’ thanks for her good service.
