A Lucknow message states that the Indian Sugar Syndicate is reducing by 3J rupees per maund the basic prices of sugar produced before April 12,1940, and remaining unsold after 60 per cent of such production has been sold. A committee is meeting the Government to discuss export.

Foul play is not suspected.
