SCOUT NOTES.
On Monday next a rally of the Boy Scouts and Cubs of the Manawatu district will be held at Johnston Park, Feeding. Visiting troops and packs are clue to arrive by train at apDroximately 9 a.m., and these, together with the local Scouts and Cube, will march in procession from the railway station, via Fergiisson Street, Manchester .. Street. Kimbolton Road, Aorangi Street and South Street to Johnston Park, where proceedings are to commence with general knowledge, signalling and ambulance tests, after which there will be a firclighting competition. This will complete the morning programme, which will close at 12.30 p.m. After a break of an hour for lunch, the lads will reassemble at 1.30 p.m. to be addressed by various speakers, including Mr N. D. Stubbs, District Commissioner > for the Manawatu. Commencing at 2 p.m., there will be two further competitions, namely.. pioneering and flagstaff raising, the latter of which is usually provocative of much amusement. During the day there will also be a handcraft competition, which will consist of a display of articles made by boys of the various troops. Competition for Cubs will be as follow: First star relay, signalling, message relay, bandaging, emergency telephone numbers, and a chariot race. All who are interested in the Scout movement are cordially invited to be present and are promised a good day's entertainment. Fruit, soft drinks, and icecream will be on sale during the day, and the prices of admission are advertised in this issue.
