Robson prosided over a good attendance and gavo a report on the acti-, vities of the club during the past year, the members having enjoyed a very good season. It was gratifying to report that t no dub is in a good financial position. llic only match lost by the A team was against Poliangina, then only by a mar gin of two games, the sots being, even. Abraham, Miss Shirley Guy, Miss Pat Jepsen, and Misses Wood. During the evening the chairman (Mr D. Ilcggie) briefly- referred to the gallant action 01 tjne Air Force, espcciallv over J.ondon and said that the R.A.F.’s courage was what had made the British Empire. lie referred to the spirit of the British people especially the Ring and Queen. Mr F. A. McKenzie, on behalf of the settlers of the district, in bidding the guests bon voyage, referred to the men who already bad left the district. They were in the Navy. Army and Air Force, and were all doing their part in the struggle for freedom. In wishing the guests M best of luck he presented them each v. i a wallet. Mr G. Wiggins, on behalf of the Young Farmers’ Club, in bidding farewell to Acting-Sergeant Maul, referred to his two years as a member of the club and on their behalf he made him a presentation. On returning thanks both were greeted with applause and musical honours.
