SCOTCH THISTLE SOCIETY.
The Scotch Thistle Society held another of its series of national dancing competitions in the Orange Hall recently, the awards being: —Highland Fling, under 8: J. Burrell 1, B. Henderson 2, P. Adams 3. Irish jig, under 8: J. Burrell 1. B. Anderson 2. P. Adams 3. Sword dance, under 10: J. McMillan 1, N. O’Hara 2. Burrell 3. Sailor’s hornpipe: J. Burrell 1, J. McMillan 2, N. Luckcr 3. Highland Fling J. McMillan 1. J. Burrell 2, B. Brown 3. Iteel o’ Tulloch under 12: R. Me Do wall 1, I. Anderson 2, F. Woodroofc | 3. Irish jig: F. Woodroofc 1, I. Anderson i 2 B. Henderson 2, F. Woodroofc 3. Sword , dance, under 14: J. Anderson 1, L. Hepworth 2, R. McDowalt and V. Merrian. equal, 3. Irish jig: B. Thompson 1, S. Hender«on 2. X. Peach and F. Rees, equal, 3 Soantriubhas: h. All the classes were well filled; altogether there were 120 entries, which was very pleasing to the executive working under tlic Icudersliip of their chief (Mr-J. L. • McMillan).
