CHRISTMAS PARCELS.

(To the Editor.) Sir,—May I be permitted space to make an urgent appeal on behalf of *he local Ladies’ Patriotic Committee for assistance in the making np of Christmas parcels for members of the New Zealand Forces. Assistance may take the form at': (a) Cake or biscuits, (b) cash, or (cl any component part of the contents of a parcel. The important point is that the committee be immediately advised of the donor’s intentions, so that cake, where necessary, may be purchased to make up anv deficiency. Mrs A. C. McCorlrindale (phone 179) or Mrs W. G. Short (phone 377 ) will be pleased to receive these messages. I would reiterate that the ideal way is for an organisation or party of persons to combine in the making up of complete parcels. —I am, CtC '’ T. L. SEDDON, Mayor.
