MUSKETRY TRAINING.

RIFLE CLUBS’ SERVICES. USE ADVOCATED. Per Press Association. DANNEVJRKE, Aug. 31. The Dannevirke Defence Rifle Club has passed the following resolution: “That the National Rifle Association draw the attention of the Government to the fact that _ the services of rifle clubs in the Dominion arc available for training in musketry members of the Home Defence Forces, and should be so utilised. The Dannevirke Defence Rifle Club offers its services in this capacity.” • The mover, Mr A. H. R. Gillespie, said he was very disappointed that the organisation of rifle clubs had not been made use of in New Zealand’s war effort. They should have been utilised for training youths and others in musketry.' He understood rifle clubs in Wellington had taken some steps in this direction, but the movement should be a national one. A wonderful opportunity was. being lost for training young men to shoot.
