PAHIATUA.
Mrs AT. Nunnerley, of Pahiatua, is spending a holiday in Auckland. 'The friends of Mr W. F. Peters, of Mangamairc, will regret to learn that ho is an inmate of a private hospital. Mrs A. Mason, of Hukamii, has returned homo from hospital. Miss Audrey Parker, of the Teachers’ Training College, is spending the vacation with her parents in Hukanui. Miss Agnes Brown is spending a holiday with Mrs F. Lemberg, Hukanui. Mr and Mrs J. Turley, who recently returned from their honeymoon, were accorded a welcome back by tho Hukanui footballers and other friends. The I-lukanui Patriotic Committee has appointed Messrs E. A. Harrington, A P Dougherty, W. 0. Twentyman, F. E. Webb, J. R. Hunter and L. G. Wenham as collectors for this month's shilling contribution to its funds.
.The Hukanui Miniature Rifle Club championship was decided recently, when J Dougherty beat R. W. Foss by 70 points to 69 in tho shoot-off. Tho handicap aggregate winner was R.W. "Foss. The Hukanui cheese factory, with several new suppliers clue to the change from butter, is now well on the way to what promises to be a record year, and with the exceptional growth of grass during tile last three weeks, production is considerably ahead of last year.
