SECRET SESSION

LENGTHY SITTING. SITUATION REVIEWED. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON,' Aug. 22. For the third time during the present session ,f Parliament, the House of Representatives held a secret sitting to-day. T-i.-i , , Consideration of formal business occupied soma five or six minutes alter the House met at 2.30. Then the Prime Minister (Rt. Hon. P. Fraser) drew attention to the “presence of strangers in the galleries.” A formal resolution was passed that the strangers be ordeied fo withdraw, and the remainder or the afternoon was occupied by secret business. , The following official report was issued by the Speaker when the House rose shortly after midnight: lim Prime Minister reviewed the developments in the international situation since the House last met in secret session, while the Minister ,of Defence outlined what had been done to strengthen our home defence and train men for service hero and overseas. The supply situation in the Dominion, and possible sources of supply from abroad, were dealt with by Hon. JJ. G. Sullivan. The work of the War Cabinet and the problems being faced were discussed by Hon. A. Hamilton and Hon. J. G. Coates. There were 15 House rose at 12.10 until 10.30 a.m. to-day
