RAILWAY COMPANIES.

INSPECTION CARRIED OUT. Per Press Association. AVELLINGTON, Aug. 21. Recently the Alinist-er of Railways (Hon. D. G. Sullivan), accompanied -by the General Alanager of Railways (AH' E. Casey), visited the 16th and 1/th Railway Operating Companies in camp near Ngaruawahia. Subsequently . a ceremonial parade was held under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel A. H. Casey briefly addressed the men and assured them that in no case would any man’s departmental prospects suffer'by reason of his absence on military duties.
