MOTHERS’ UNION.
NEW MEMBERS ADMITTED. An admission service was held at the monthly meeting of All Saints’ Mothers’ Union, yesterday afternoonThe meeting opened with a hymn and prayer, Mrs E. Dawiek presiding. Miss N. Jones, secretary of the Palmerston North branch of the Y.W.C.A., gave an interesting talk on Scotland. Members stood in silence as a mark of respect to the memory of Mrs CCater and Mrs L. Crooke (Marton). Mrs W. Briden Jones brought forward remits from the National Council of Women relating to the reduction of hours for the sale of liquor and the use. of sugar by brewers. These were approved. Pianoforte duets were presented by Mesdames W. It. Bigham and J. C. Riddle. Mrs Autridge was appointed hospital visitor for the month. The hostesses were Mesdames T. lnglis and A. Hunt (conveners), C. Aikman, W. Bottcher, S. Reid and T. Smith. The admission service was conducted in the Lady Chapel by Rev. Canon Woodward, the new members being Mesdames K. Burr, D. C. Tait, N. W. Riddle, R. J. McCulloch, A, Totten and M. Abraham. Mrs Thompson . was welcomed on transfer from "Wanganui.
