ASHHURST SALE.
Abraham and Williams, Ltd., Teport a medium yarding of sheep, comprised principally of fats, at the Ashhuret sale, with a, heavy yarding of prime dairy cows and heifers, also an average yarding of fat cattle all ex the dairy. The sale throughout for fat sheep and fat cattle was sound, with rates fully firm on other recent fixtures. Competition for all classes of dairy stock was animated from the start and we report a highly satisfactory sale in this connection at values higher than those ruling at the previous fortnightly sale. Quotations: —Sheep: Fat ewes. 30s, 31s. 325, to 365; fat hoggets. 22s 6d, 245,' to 255. Cattle: Springing dairy cows (good quality), £lO, £lO 10s, £lO 15s, £ll, £ll 10s, £l2 10s, £l3 to £l3 10s; springing.heifers (good quality, close to profit), £9/ £9 10s, £lO, to £lO 10s; later calving heifers, £7 10s, £B, to £9. Fat cattle: Fat cows, £5 10s, £6, £6 10s, £7, to £7 15s; store cows, £2 10s, £2 153, £3, £3 10s to £4 ss.
