Typhoon in Philippines. A message from Manila says in a typhoon one person was killed and vast damage was done to crops and communications in the Nuevaecija Province.
Racing At Home. After nearly a throe months’ suspension, racing at Home is resuming on September 14, a substitute St. Leger being run at Newmarket in September. Nazis Hampered. The Minister of Economic \V aria re (Dr Dalton), in the House of Commons, said tlie R.A.F..-was greatly disturbing German attempts to remove from Holland large quantities (if butter. eggs and vegetables exceeding the normal importations. The Germans had established a kind of one-way traffic in France whereby goods could be removed freely from the unoccupied areas, but there were obstacles in the wav of movements from the other direction.
