AIR CASUALTIES

THE LATEST LIST. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 21. The following Air Force 1 casualties were officially announced to-day : PJ LOT-OFFICER ERNEST lAN PARSONS, D.E.C., missing in air operations. Mother: Mrs W. H. Parsons, of Timaru. PILOT-OFFICER HERBERT GREGORY BALLANTYNE. killed in an aircraft accident. Mother: Mrs E. G. .Ballantyne, of Hastings. PILOT-OFFICER CECIL HENRY MIGHT, killed in air operations. Father: Mr IN. E. liight, of Stratford. PlLOl'-OFFICER ATHOL GORDON McINTYRE, injured in air operations. Father: Senior-Sergeant J. Mclntyre, of Palmerston North. Pilot-Officer Mclntyre was also injured on June 3. PILOT-OFFICER JOHN OSCAR LLOYD STEPHENSON, killed in an air accident. ‘Mother: Mrs G. H. Stephenson, of New Plymouth. PilotOfficer Stephenson was reported to be dangerously ill as a result of an accident last November. Cabled advice that their son, Actingleading Aircraftsman Edward Culley. was killed on war service as the result of a flying accident at Lee-on-Solent, has been received by Mr and Mrs E. Culley, of Lower Hutt. Aircraftsman Gulley, who was 18, left for England for service with the Fleet Air Arm on November 16 of last year. He was educated at Soots College and Wellington College, and was particularly prominent in swimming and Rugby football circles. He was a member of the Wellington College First Fifteen for two seasons.
