SUPREME COURT.

WELLINGTON, Aug. 14. Before Mr Justice Smith, in the Supreme Court, yesterday, Victor Richard Dallman, painter, aged 26, who was committed at Palmerston North on August a last for breaking, entering, and theft, was admitted to probation for two years, on the usual terms, and on the special terms that he pay £1 Is costs within the first three months of his term. His Honour said that it appeared that prisoner had been employed in hotels, and at Palmerston North had broken the window of a jeweller’s shop and snatched three rings, but'had been caught in the act. As the probation officer’s report was favourable he would be admitted to probation.
