ASHTON.—On August 13, 1940, at tho Palmerston North Hospital (alter a long and painful illness), Elizabeth Jane, dearly be'.oved wife of Georgo Ashton, and loving mother of Mrs E_ U. Williams, of 54 Lyndhurst Street, Palmerston North; aged 78 years.
