RUMANIAN POLITICS.
IRON GUARD DISCIPLINE
Received August 9, 9.40 a.m. BERLIN, Aug. 8
Tho wireless has reported that, for reasons of party discipline, tho Rumanian Iron Guard has expelled three of its representatives in the Ministry— M. Budistoanu (Minister of Agriculture), M. Noveanu (Minister of Inventories) and M. Bideanu (Undersecretary). A new Statute bars Rumania s 750,000 Jews from owning rural properties, which the State takes over. It denies paternal rights to Jews whose children are not educated along national lines. No Jews can be baptised and no Jewish children can join the national youth organisation. All Jews, except those nationalised before 1918, or ex-servicemen, arc prohibited from membership of administrative boards, the transaction of rural business, the sale of alcohol, teaching, cinema ownership, publishing, and service in the army, for which taxes arc being substituted.
