AIARTON, Aug. 5. Rugby football matches on Saturdav resulted: —Rangitikci 9 v. Wanganui B 5; Wanganui Fourths 16 v. Rangitikei Thirds 3. Juniors: Old Boys 3 v. Iluntervillo 0. By securing the verdict over llunlerville at Marton, Old • Boys won the Rangitikei junior competition. The challenge ladies’ hockey match at ATarlon for the Paranihi Cup was won by Kin Ora (challengers) from United (holders), by 3 goals to 2. The four miles sealed handicap run conducted by tbe Marton Harrier Club was won by the scratch man. F. Hill, who covered the distance in 22 minutes 12 seconds. A road course .was selected — around Newman’s block— and the race commenced from Air and Airs W. Taylor’s residence, Pukepapa Road. The sealed handicap resulted: —F. IT ill (scr.) 1, .T. Taylor (50see.) 2, S. Christopher (15 sec.) 3. The actual placings and times wore: Hill, 22.12. 1; Christopher, 23.10, 2; Taylor, 23.33, 3.
