APPLYING ROUGE.
Bo sure to choose the shade most suited to your complexion. Unless this is done the most adept of applications will fail to yield the desired effect. Tho shades that can be purchased vary considerably so that there are tints from which ono can be chosen to provide tho proper colour harmony for individual needs'. Rouge should he apnlied with a solt pad starting at the high point of the cheek and following the natural curve of the cheek towards tho nose, using the middle finger to blend the rouge into the full parts of the cheek. Next, carrv tlie rouge very faintly from the cheekbone to the outer corner of the lower eyelid before blending the colour away to nothing around tlie edges. To be effective, rouge must look natural, but if it is not correctly applied it looks obvious. Rouge can be applied with more liberality for evening wear, as artificial light- permits of stronger contrasts.
