AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT.

The Associated Auctioneers report on the Feilding sale:—A largo yarding of store sheep, comprising mainly wether and ewe hoggets, with a fair sprinkling of breeding ewes of all ages, came forward. Fat sheep were also yarded in large numbers, some excellent quality ewes and wethers coming to hand, and for these a very strong market was in evidence, it being very apparent that fat sheep of any class are going to bo very difficult to get in the near future. The market hardened at least 2s to 2s 6d per head for any prime fat ewes and wethers. The respective numbers in these sections were 6500 store sheep and 1150 fat sheep. The sale Iroin the outset for both store and fat sheep was particularly keen, Waikato and Taranaki purchasing power being strongly in evidence for any lines of wether and ewe hoggets submitted. Values in the store sheep section hardened to the extent of In 6d to 2s per head. Any sound, reliable breeding ewes on offer also mot with a particularly keen • demand at '. allies well no on last week’s rates. In the station cattle section several pens of empty P.A. cows and wcaner P.A. steers and heifers off high country, not carrying very much condition, also met with a very keen demand. V !i!"n S i-mnir well up on those ruling last week. An average yarding of both dairy cows and heifers came _to hand, quality sorts mooting with spirited competition from the outset. It is quite evident from tho vardings coming forward in the da : rv sections this year, when compared with other seasons, that there is going to be a definite shortage of dairy stock for farmers’ requirements in the ensuing year. Fat cattle were yarded in larger numbers than usual, some splendid quality bullocks _ and cows coming forward. These met with a highly satisfactory sale at values on a higher level than has born the ease at Foilding this winter, "rime ox beef realising up to £2 per 1001 b for station-bred prime quality =crts. On the other band, cows ex the dairy mot with an easier sale than was (ho ease at last, week’s fixture. Tho usual offering of potter and store cows met with a ready sale at values well up on last week’s. Yearling Jersey heifers showing any qualify also met with a very keen sale, values again hardening in this department in comparison with last week’s rates.
