ORION MOTOR-CYCLE CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. At the annual meeting of the Manawatu. Orion Motor-Cycle Club, on Thursday. Mr E. Pink presided in the absence of the president (Mr E. \. West). Tlie balance-sheet, which snowed a slight loss on the year’s working, was read and adopted. After a discussion as to whether the club should go into recess because of tlie present shortage of petrol, it was decided to carry.on with a limited programme of activities-. It was, however, decided to postpone tlie annual race meeting. Thanks were expressed to Mr and Mrs A. G. Farland for the use of a track on tlieir property, and the secretary was instructed to write to the Fox ton Beach Improvement Society thanking it for assistance. It was decided that all members serving overseas bo made honorary members of tlie club for the duration of the war.
The election of officers resulted : Patron, Mr B. Palmer; president. Air E. V. West; vice-presidents. Messrs S. Hick Ford, E. Pink, H. E. Edmunds, J. Manning, junr., A. A. Wood, G. Hatton. T. R. Deakin, H. Marshall and P. T. Robinson; secretary and treasurer, Mr F. R. Whitcombe; club captain, Mr A. Ploen ; vice-captain, Mr G. Zaloiun ; committee, Messrs L. Burns, H. Robson, G. Zaloiun, G. Barnes, F. Ncsdale, E. Pink, C. Clinton, A. Ploen and M. Andrews; lion, auditor, Mr W. C. Harrington; New Zealand AutoCvele Union representative, Mr E. Pink.
In presenting the trophies won during tho year, Mr Pink congratulated the following successful members':— Bruce and Bai Trial Cup, Mr E. V. West; trial and picnic cup, Mr H. Stokes; Perry Cup (hill clinib). Mr A. Ploen; Harley-Davidson Cup (grass bill climb), Messrs ,T. lledshaw and M. Andrews: Zenith Cup, Air V. Potter; Winter Cup, Air Ploen. Congratulations were extended by Air Pink to Alessrs D. Collison and J. Bulk. who have been married sinee the last meeting of the club, and on behalf of the club members suitable presentations were made to them.
