TOKIO. June 14. The American Ambassador (Mr J. C. Grew) called at the Foreign Office to protest against the bombing of Chungking on the grounds that American property was endangered, incorporating Mr Cordell Hull’s Press statement yesterday condemning the bombing. - The Foreign Office has protested at the incident in which a Netherlands naval ’plane is alleged to have bombed a Japanese fishing vessel on May 6.
