NOTES. Donations to the Sick, Wounded and Listless Fund in Pahiutua total £3013 12s Id, At a meeting of the Druids’ Juvenile Lodge, a challenge match of carpet bowls between the Juvenile Druids and the Senior Lodge resulted in a draw, each team having seven points. About 100 guests were present at Mr and Mrs C. Burt’s residence, Dawson. Sticot, on . Saturday evening when the coming-of-age of Mr A. McDouga! was celebrated. Dancing and singing were enjoyed, the music being supplied by Mrs W. Murcfi 'and Miss E. Burt. Items were rendered by Mrs Watson and Miss H. Kemp. The birthday cake was inade and iced, by Mrs C. Burt, RUGBY FOOTBALL. The weather was ideal for Rugby football o:i Saturday, when the largest crowd seen at Rugby Park, Pahialua, this season witnessed two very men and exciting games. The first, between Mangatainoka and iiukartui thirds, was a clean and open game with plenty of action. Both teams played excellent football and ■ the score, Hukanui 14, Mangatainoka 10, was a good indication of the game. Points were gained for llukaniii by D. Webb (3). D. Moore (3), J. Bartosh (3), N. Perry (3). and D. Udv (2). Points for Mangatainoka wore gained by Hunt .(5), Gillard (3), Checklcy (2). Mr V. Brown was the referee. The teams in the senior game were: Mangatainoka: Tait, McDougal, Fulton, Hunt, Bicknell, Staples. Lett (capt.), Reichenbach, Ross, Sharplin, Compton, Upston, Cotter, Woodill, Forbes. Konini. —D. Iveene, C. Eddie, L. Barraclough. R. Mathews. R. Croad, 31. Harris. Desmond Keene, B. Smith (capt.), N. 31 a bey, S. Watts, A. Verry, T. Verry, F. Jensen, C. Brown, A. Hirst. Mangatainoka kicked off and nftor a series of kicks were awarded a free kick. Bicknell had a shot at goal but missed. R. Hunt later secured from a line-out and scored near the corner flag. Bicknell failed to convert. Konini attacked strongly, eventually being awarded a free kick with which Eddie equalised the points. After half-time, Mangatainoka attacked strongly and Fulton scored a try. Tait. missed with the kick. Mangatainoka again attacked and Fulton and Bicknell raced for the line, the latter scoring. Bickneil’s kic-k at goal failed. The final whistle sounded with the score; Mangatainoka: 9, Konini 3. 3Jr 3V Lawry was the referee.
