HIGHWAY TRAGEDY.

YOUNG BOY KILLED, Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 16. One boy was killed : and another seriously injured in a motor accident at an intersection in Opotiki this afternoon. The victims were.—Killed: Charles Joseph Donaldson,: aged 7. Injured; Thomas Arthur Donaldson, aged 9. Mr T. Donaldson, the father of, the boys, swung the truck he' was driving sharply - to the right in an attempt to avoid a collision with a car driven by Mr J. R. Washburn,- of Hamilton, but. the vehicle overturned and his sons, who were with him in the cab, were thrown to the road. The younger bov was crushed bv the body of the truck and killed instantly, while the other was extricated suffering from a lacerated scalp and concussion.
