ADDINGTON SALE. STEADY VALUES. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Juno 12. Fat sheep and fat cattle were in large supply at Addington to-day, but there was little change in values. Though the store sheep entry fell from 4000 head to between 600 and 700, values remained at the bedrock rates of recent sales. The auction was lifeless. The best, price for owes was 13s Id for a truck of eight-tooth halfbreds. Four-year-old Corriedales made 3s 9d to 10s 7d, and soundmouthed ewes 6s 6d to 9s 3d. The best of the wethers realised 17s and 17s Id, with medium pens going at 13s Id. The fat lamb yarding totalled 1000 head, compared with the 1300 of last week. There was a larger proportion of lighter sorts, and exporters were loss active for this class. For good sorts, butchers paid last week’s improved values. The fat sheep entry increased from 5500 to 7500. The quality also showed an improvement, with some excellent lots being forward from the south. Medium and light ewes were Is to Is 6d easier, and all but the best of the wethers were down by up to Is 6d. Prime heavy wethers made 31s to 345, with the tops going at 41s, and medium grades at from 23s 6d to 30s. The best of the ewes made 25s to 31s, extra good sorts 39s lOd, ordinary 18s to 245, and lighter to 16s. The fat cattle entry of 587 head was about the same as last week, though the quality was mixed. Thero was a better showing of prime stock. The market improved slightly for good cattle. Cows and unfinished steers were, however, cheaper. The best of the beef made from 36s _ to 37s a 1001 b. with good average beef going at 33s to 355, and rough cow beef down to 255. The tops of the prime heavy steers made to £lB 7s 6d, modiumweights £ll to £l4, lighter sorts £8 15s upward; extra prime heifers £ll. ordinary high-grade sorts£9 to £lO ss.- modiumweights £6 to £8 10s, light £5 to £6. Porkers were in over-supply, and prices wore 5s a head easier, the,average price a lb being 7d to 7|d. A smaller bacon entry met a better demand, and the average price a lb was 7d to 73d.

RATES AT JOIINSONVILLE. Large yardings of cattle and sheep were offered to an average attendance of buyers at the stock sale at Johnsonville yesterday. The bullocks were of good quality, and met with a ready sale at prices on a par with those riding last week. . Only a few pens of good, quality cows came forward, and these met. with a good sale. Inferior sorts were hard to quit. Runners and vealers of good quality sold well at late rates. No heavy wethers came forward, the yarding comprising chiefly mediumweight sheep of good quality, and these sold well. There was a good yarding of prime heavy ewes. These mot with a good sale, though unfinished sorts *wero not sought. There was a good demand for lambs, which were of quite good quality. Prices; — Cattle. —Prime extra heavy bullocks, £ls to £l4 ss; prime heavy, £l4 to £l3 10s; prime heavy cows and heifers, £8 10s to £7; runners and 'vealers, heavy, £4 8s to £3 14s. Sheep.—Prime extra heavy wethers, 30s 3d and 295; prime heavy, 27s 9d; medium wethers. 25s 6d; prime extra heavy ewes, 245; prime heavy, 23s 9d; medium, 22s 6d; heavy lambs, ,255; medium, 23s 3d. STORTFORD LODGE. HASTINGS, June 12. Breeding ewes and hoggets advanced by 2s a head at the Stortford Lodge sale today, there being a brisk: market. Twotooths topped the sale at 31s 6d. Fciur-tooths brought 31s, and five-year-old sorts 25s 6d. Fairly-grown wether hoggets, shorn a?lambs and in forward order, brought 18s 9d, and medium, woolly sorts 18s 2d. Small-grown wether hoggets, shorn as lambs, brought 14s lid. Fairly-finished, medium-grown heifers made £8 17s 6d; light to £7 7s 6d; heavy cows. £8 17s 6d to £lO 2s 6d; medium, £7 12s 6d to £8 7s 6d. WESTFIELD QUOTATIONS. f Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Juno 12. An average beef yarding at the Westfield sale sold under a strong demand, values being very firm. Extra choice ox bef sold for 36s a 1001 b, choice and prime 33s to 355, secondary and plain 29s to 325; extra prime cow and heifer 29s to 335, choice and prime 26s to 28s, ordinary 22s to 255.
