PRIDE IN VALOUR. THE GERMAN VERSION. Received May 30, 11.30 a.m. LONDON, May 29. His Majesty has sent a message to the B.E.F. expressing pride and admiration in its courageous resistance. From Paris it is reported that King Leopold of the Belgians has arrived at a castle near Brussels. His children have reached Lisbon. A German communique says the doom of the French armies in Artois is now sealed. Their resistance in the area south of Lillo has been broken down. “The British Army, which is concentrated in Dixmude, Armcntieres, Bailleul, and Bergues, is facing complete destruction by our concentric attacks. The German forces have marched through Bruges, captured Ostend, and reached Dixmnde. “The Allies are still offering desperate resistance on the River Yser and along the Yser Canal north of Ypres. German forces have reached Lille from the east and west. German forces broke the fortified French position east of Cassel, where the French are fighting on d reversed front. “In Norway the Allies, supported by numerous warships, landed on the iron ore railway and penetrated into Narvik from the north.” The German News Agency says the Allied Armies in Flanders are occupying territory northward of Liile to the coast only 25 miles w'ide at the broadest point. Dunkirk is within range of heavy artillery and the harbour has been destroyed. The Allied Forces, mainly French, southward of Lille, have been encircled in an area of seven and a-lialf square mile 6.
