The Amalgamated Engineering Union has expressed willingness to work 12r hour shifts to speed up the production of war materials (states a Sydney message). Recruiting in Sydney has averaged 900 daily since last Tuesday. The Minister for Air (Mr J. V. Fairbairn) announces that the Commonwealth Governritent is asking the British Government for the best means whereby Australia can quickly assist Britain with pilots and air staffs.
