ULTIMATUM DISCUSSED. SYDNEY. April 26. Officials and representatives of the combined mining unions met to-day and discussed the Prime Ministers ultimatum to the coalminers, whose strike is now in its seventh week. No decision was reached. Sir George Beeby (Chief Judge of the Federal Arbitration Court) has reserved judgment on the application for deregistration of the Australian Railways Union, since when, the striking raiiwaymen have resumed work on the Broken Hill lino. His Honour strongly criticised the leaders of the Railway Union, declaring that, if the rank and file leave their affairs in the hands of men whose purpose is to destrov the svstem ol arbitration provided for their benefit, they must take the consequences.
