NORTH CANTERBURY LEVY REDUCED. Per Press Association, CHRISTCHURCH, April 24. The North Canterbury Hospital Board decided to-day to reduce its levy by to a total of £96,(6/ on account of the operations of the social security legislation. It was revealed that the hoard was in a strong financial position. At the end of March it had a hank credit balance of £33,161, and the Government subsidies outstanding in the maintenance account amounted to £10,016. The total maintenance credit was £43,177. The finance committee estimated that revenue for the current year would amount to £171,047, compared with £75.998 for the year just ended.
