POPPY DAY APPEAL.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—May I through your columns, and on behalf of the Eeilding Returned Soldiers' Association, express our thanks and deep appreciation of the splendid public response that was given for Poppy Day appeal last Friday. Tlie continually growing numbers of poppies sold every Poppy Day indicate to us that our efforts on behalf of distressed returned soldiers and uheir families—which is what these funds are used for—are sympathetically noticed by the general public, and for this recognition of the work that wo do we are sincerely gratified. To all those who assisted on Friday last we extend our sincere thanks, particularly to that large hand of willing young lady helpers without whose endeavours we could never hope to show the results that we do.—l am, etc., BRUCE McLEOD, President, Feilding R.S.A.
