ST. ANDREW’S GUILD.
ENTERTAINING AFTERNOON. An amusing one-act play was the chief item on the progranime at the monthly meeting of St. Andrew’s Ladies’ Guild, yesterday afternoon. The producer was Mrs R. Dolby and the cast comprised Mesdames R. C. Donald, R. L. C. Aitchison, L. I. Plinimer, and Dolby. Chrysanthemums, hydrangeas, fern and autumn foliage had been arranged to dbcorate the hall by Mrs J. Galland. Mrs M. Aitchison presided and the door hostesses were Mesdames R. D. Knight and M. R. Macaulay. The president extended a warm welcome to members and visitors, and reminded them that it would bo the turn of St. Andrew’s and St. David’s Guilds to take charge of the patriotic shop from April 29 to May 4; she solicited he.lp in the providing of goods. It was renorted that the committee had decided to give £3O from the money raised at the flower show to the mission fund, and Mrs N. A. Tily (treasurer) read a letter of thanks from the deacons’ court. Mesdames W. G. Clarke. W. Duffell, A. Clark. A. Best, C. Screech, A. Wylie and J. Wingate were the afternoon tea hostesses. Songs were contributed by Mesdames H. Cunningliame and H- Greenwood, accompanied, by Mrs R. C. Donald, who also played for the opening hymn. Mrs J. Murray conveyed a vote of thanks to the entertainers and Mrs Aitchison thanked the hostesses and helpers. Rev. J. Hubbard closed the meeting with prayer.
