HARBOUR COLLISION.
SYDNEY, April 22
'Hie Commonwealth Marine Court blames both captains, for the collision near the Harbour Bridge on March 9 when heavy damage was done to a Union Company freighter by a Blue Star liner. The Court found that the immediate causes of the collision were: First, an error in judgment and failure of duty by the master of the Union Company freighter in changing his ship’s course to port from the western side of the harbour, thereby taking her out of her own water; secondly, a failure by the master of the Union Company, freighter to notify by sound signals this change of direction; thirdly, careless navigation of the Blue Star liner outside her proper channel; fourthly, excessive speed and an inefficient look-out on the latter ship.
