VALEDICTORY.
On Saturday morning the management and staff of a local firm joined to bid Miss Jean Thurston farewell, and to wish her every possible happiness in her approaching marriage. On behalf of the staff, the managing director, Mr llausmann, senr., asked Miss Thurston to accept a magnificent chiming clock, together with a handsome picture as tokens of the respect, esteem and good wishes of her fellow workers. On behalf of the management, the secretary (Mr Hausinann, junr.) asked Miss Thurston to accept a cheque as an appreciation of the willing and thorough manner in which she had always fulfilled all the duties which she had been called upon to perform during her four years of service. The company had been particularly fortunate in having possessed the'services of such a congenial and capable person. All present wished Miss Thurston every possible happiness in her future life. Miss Thurston thanked both her fellow workers and the management for their presents and good wishes. The opportunity was taken of welcoming Miss J. Sndgren, who recently joined the staff as Miss Thurston’s successor.
