NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Manawatu County Council proposes at its Meeting to he held on the 14th May, 1940, to consider a motion to apply to the Local Government Loans Board for its sanction to the borrowing of a sum of £20,000 for the purpose of rebuilding the Oroua River Bridge at Ivopane and the reconstruction and 'sealing of roads within the County. As security for the purpose of repayment of the Special Loan and the payment of interest thereon the Council proposes to make and levy a special rate of two-elevenths of a penny (2-lld) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the County of Manawatu. Any person having any objection to the proposed application is called upon to submit the same in writing to the Manawatu County Council not later than the day preceding the said Meeting.
