(From Our Own Correspondent.) POHANGINA, March 21. The Methodist Ladies’ Guild held a meeting at the home of Mrs T. Sinclair recently. Rev. C. A. Foston was present. Officers elceted are: President, Mrs O. F. Wagstaff; vicepresidents, Jlrs Wagstaff, senr., and Mrs Maddison; secretary and treasurer, Mrs T. Sinclair: members’ representative, Mrs Maddison. The report. and balance-sheet wore presented bv the secretary, the latter showing a satisfactory creditdialance. Letters wore read from the president of (he M.W.M.U. and Sister Vera Cannon, of Ihe Solomon Islands Mission. It was decided tr> hold a bring and buy si all at each meeting throughout. the year, the proceeds to form a fund from which donations to worthy objects can be drawn. A competition was won by Mrs G. !. Wagstaff. The annual picnic of the Pohangina Sunday school children was hold in the Domain. Visiting the valley as the guests of Mr and Mrs T. Sinclair. Pohangina. are Misses Burne and Northcote. of Wellington. Mr and Mrs B. Vincent, of Levin, are, staying with Mr and Mrs F. Wood, Pohangina Road. Miss M. Trollope, of Palmerston North, is spending a few days with Miss Maddison. of Finnis Road. Mr and Mrs M. Mackie, of Auckland have returned homo after a visit to Mrs M. Klink. Mrs Mackie formerly Miss Edna Thwaites spent her girlhood in the township. Mrs F. Biddlcenmbe lias returned to Pohangina after a holiday spent in Wellington. The Raumai golf links are to be opened for play over the Easter week-end. The lawns arid fairways are in excellent order.
